Position:Â
College Fair Trainer
Remote, Seasonal, Independent Contractor
Introduction
StriveScan was founded in 2016 and has been rapidly growing since its inception. With a mission to connect students and colleges through easy, efficient technology, our barcodes and mobile scanning app have been used at college fairs in 47 states and 72 countries. We partner with 21 ACACs, 11 ACRAOs, and hundreds of individual fairs nationwide. Our list of partners is constantly growing and we’re bringing on fairs in more states this fall!
To support StriveScan’s growth, we are seeking reliable, adaptable people to join our fully-remote, dynamic team and help us continue to serve Fair Coordinators at the highest levels of service.
Position Summary
StriveScan is seeking to hire two seasonal College Fair Trainers for Fall 2024 to join our team and assist in training Fair Coordinators to successfully implement StriveScan at their in-person event. College Fair Trainers must be reliable, flexible, comfortable with technology, including video and audio platforms, and possess strong communication skills.
StriveScan’s Fair Coordinator Trainings are offered to every college fair host and are instrumental to the success of the over 2,000 StriveScan-partner events each year. Fair Coordinator Trainings ensure StriveScan is implemented successfully, enhancing the student, college rep, and host experience at a StriveScan fair. Typical training sessions include asking questions to understand the logistics of the fair, contextualizing and providing StriveScan resources with that information in mind, and giving an overview of the student registration process, rep scanning experience, and data available to hosts. This role would also collaborate with Team StriveScan to understand the history of our fairs and partnerships to be best prepared for each training.
For those with college admissions work experience, Fair Coordinator Trainings are StriveScan’s version of a high school visit. The months of August and September are also our busy season, as we ensure all of our Fair Coordinators are equipped to incorporate StriveScan into their events. On a typical day, a College Fair Trainer may meet with 4 – 6 fair coordinators. Similar to a high school visit, much of the basic information a Trainer shares is consistent across that day’s conversations, but there is quite a bit of personalization and nuance based on each fair’s logistics and coordinator questions.
The ideal candidate will have some experience working in college admissions, high school counseling, or related fields. Candidates may not have concurrent full-time, daytime employment.
The position will onboard and train in early August and conduct training sessions with Fair Coordinators throughout August and September.
